Back on May 4th, 2024, I released Cypher: A Hero’s Oath. At the time, I was going through a rough, depressed period. I hadn’t been releasing comics or actively chasing my dream, and it was starting to weigh on me.One day, I sat down with my friend CZR and we quickly drafted this one-shot together. It was either our first or second draft—and we just went with it. It’s not perfect, but it’s not terrible either. I see it as a solid jumping-off point for the world I’m building.I chose to release it on Free Comic Book Day because I believe art should be accessible to everyone. That’s why I put it out on free platforms, and why most of my work can be found online for free.stmbll

red giant chapter one

STMBLL: With Chapter 1 releasing tomorrow, I’m feeling excited, anxious, and nervous. I’m excited for people to finally see the story I’ve been working on since 2019. The idea came to me one night while I was working at Pizza Hut, FOLDING BOXES. I wanted to create a world that captured the wonder of One Piece and the intensity of The Hunger Games. And somehow, it all came together.That night, I created CYPHER: Star Child, but more importantly, I created a universe full of never ending stories. So far, I have five different stories I want to tell within this universe. The entire saga is planned out, and with time, I hope to release them all.I’m anxious because, of course, I want my work to be liked. that’s normal, right? But more than that, I just want it to be seen and not lost in the scroll. As long as I can get feedback as the story unfolds, that alone would make me happy.
And yeah, I’m nervous too. What if everything I’ve worked on these last few months has been a waste? What if I actually made a trash story? LOL…But either way. I did it. And that means something.
